Hui Meiguo qu le 回美国去了
Back in the US.
As of Friday, Laurel and I hui meiguo qu le, so don't expect any of the usual poignant China commentary from us for a few weeks.
Having been away from home for a while, I can however provide my perspective on what's been going on in Austin the past year:
- Yes, the TexMex is indeed as good as I remembered. I dread the prospects of another extended period of time without the Mole enchiladas from El Chile
- Does Austin really have enough outdoorsmen (or "hippies" as Anthony aptly put it) to support 2 REIs?
- So that's what a blue sky looks like
- The number of cranes downtown is coming dangerously close to that of Shanghai
- What happened to 2nd?
- What happened to Mopac/Duval?
- What happened to?
- Breathe in ... breathe out
Overall it feels comfortable - a little too comfortable in fact. Like home, I guess, and it's great to see friends and family, but I would be disappointed if we weren't heading back to China soon.
